Counseling Services
We have
partnered with St. Vincent Healthcare Behavioral Health Associates to provide
these services:
LCMS and ELCA of Montana and
northern Wyoming. Both church bodies provide benevolence funds to Lutheran
Social Services of MT for
this important service.
A pastor may be faced with a difficult
counseling situation and desire another trained professional’s opinion and
conversation. Many of our pastors are located in isolated communities and may
encounter perplexing personal and professional issues that a counselor can
help sort out. This is a non-judgmental support service designed to assist
pastors in their efforts to minister to their congregations and communities.
- Individual and Family Counseling
Lutheran Social Services of MT and Behavioral
Associates have developed a statewide network of mental health counselors
approved by both organizations as meeting the standards and credentials
required by LSS of Montana.
Pastors are provided with referral cards
that
let individuals and families receive services from a contracted counselor.
Clients with limited resources are billed at a
below market rate. For those who cannot fully afford this preferred rate, a
sliding scale payment is negotiated and LSS of Montana subsidizes the visit up
to the preferred rate. All subsidized clients are limited to two visits.
Further visits can be negotiated when circumstances may require additional
support.
For immediate and/or crisis support persons can be referred by Lutheran
clergy to the "Consultation to Clergy" support line. If the
counselor is not immediately available, the call will be returned within 24
hours. This service is solely subsidized by Lutheran Social Services of MT.
