All couples hoping to adopt through Lutheran Social Services of Montana are required to complete a two-and-a-half day workshop. This gives you an opportunity to get to know us, ask questions, gain insight into the adoption process and determine whether adoption is the right choice for you now. You’ll also meet other couples who are considering adoption, who understand what you are going through, and with whom you can share mutual support. Workshops generally include presentations from adoptive families and birthparents who have already been through this process. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain information from their perspective.
This workshop provides extensive education about the legal and medical issues relating to adoption and gives a comprehensive view of open adoption. At the conclusion of the workshop, couples are prepared to begin their home study process and develop their personal profiles. We all enjoy coming together for these workshops, and we look forward to spending this valuable time with you.
